Playwright and ex-BBC journalist
Originally a journalist for more than 10 years, including seven years at the BBC, Martin retrained as an actor. Since then, he has performed on stage and screen, mostly notably Trafalgar Studios in the West End, Southwark Playhouse and a UK tour of the sports based drama The Long Walk Back where he played the lead as ex-England cricketer Chris Lewis. As a playwright, Martin made his Radio 4 debut with his play Death Knock in September 2020, based on his experiences as a local news reporter in the capital.
