These examples of resources come directly from schools who were part of the Parental Engagement project. Use them to as guides to support your school on it’s journey.
1. Calculation Policies
Below are some school calculation policies. Use them as a guide if you are planning to update your own calculation policy.
2. Parent Information Letters
Informing your parents about what is going on in school is really important. The project schools tried to include maths in each one. Some introduced maths challenges and other celebrated their successes. Schools promoted any parent activities through these too. Have a look at what some of the schools did to get some ideas for yourself.
4. Maths Trail
One of the project schools created their own maths trail and used it as part of a family fun day. This was very successful and there was good turn out. You could have a go at creating your own maths trail. It’s really easy, you just need to photograph different parts of the school and ask some interesting maths questions about them.
