Mayor's Fund For London
30 Mar 2017

WE Day 1On Wednesday 22nd March, the Mayor’s Fund for London’s Youth Board attended the annual WE Day celebration at Wembley Arena.

The Youth Board is made up of 15-24 year old Londoners, who support our work by acting as Youth Ambassadors for our programmes and our charity. They are also currently working on their own film project, with the aim to amplify and share the voice of young people across the capital.

In recognition of their hard work and dedication to the Mayor’s Fund, the Board were invited as honorary guests to WE Day – a celebration of young people who strive to make a positive difference in the world through social action. Joined by thousands of other students and young people from across the country, the Board got to see the likes of Jessie J, the Vamps and Kate Winslet on stage! They also got to hear from some incredibly motivational speakers, such as Margaret Trudeau, mother to Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who spoke on the issue of mental health, and Muzoon Almellehan, a young Syrian refugee and educational rights activist.

Overall it was a fun and thought-provoking day out, and the Youth Board left with lots of inspiration for their future projects. Thank you WE Day!
