Over 400 runners took to the streets of London last weekend (29-30 Sept) for London’s epic 24 hour relay running event, Midnight2Midnight. The event was organised by London Midnight Runners who nominated us as the beneficiary charity for this annual event. Runners raised over £8,600 for our work with young Londoners from disadvantaged backgrounds.

As the clock struck midnight, a group of 130 runners set off from The Scoop, More London, outside City Hall, for the first of the 24x 10km runs. Accompanied by Midnight Runner crew and an excellent sound track on Bluetooth speakers, the runners had the option of taking 4 different circuits around London including routes taking in Buckingham Palace, Wapping, Canada Water and Rotherhithe.

Throughout the 24 hours, participants set off on the hour every hour, with the final group marking the end of the event at midnight – just in time to join the celebrations at the After Party at the Doodle Bar in Bermondsey. The runners could run as many 10k circuits as they wished, with several opting for 10 or more! A cohort of running club members from a variety of London institutions joined together including Transport for London, London Fire Brigade, Met Police, GLA, Greenwich Runners, Museum of London, Taylor Wimpey, Berkeley Foundation and KPMG.

Midnight2Midnight is organised by Midnight Runners, powered by Reebok and sponsored by Sun God, Ultimate Ears, Run Through, Deliciously Ella, Hippeas, SNACT, Indulge Healthy, ROObiotic, Pulsin, Organic Energy, London Juice Company, Nothing But, Prime, Tribe, Kind, Sens and SOS Hydration.

With grateful thanks to our friends at London Bridge City and More London for their support and of course to the wonderful people at Midnight Runners. We can’t wait to do it all again!
