Getting Mathematical in the Kitchen
The students at Tweeddale Primary School, Sutton, have been getting busy in the kitchen whipping up a storm! They were one of the 30 schools chosen to receive a kick-start grant to get their Count on Us maths club going. They have been learning key cookery skills as well as using maths in everyday life. The pupils who have been attending have been baking all sorts of recipes including; bread rolls, cookies, muffins and even dirt puddings!
The pupils were chosen because of their lack of enjoyment and confidence in maths. After attending maths club, their confidence has come on leaps and bounds!
