These documents were used during the 2020 Lambeth and Southwark’s ‘Summer of Food and Fun’ programme, which was funded by by the DfE HAF programme.

There are at least 400,000 children living in households experiencing food insecurity. Covid-19 is hugely exacerbating issues around food poverty, meaning that these figures are now likely to be much higher and will continue to increase. It is imperative that children and young people are able to access high quality, inclusive and sustainable holiday provision in order to grow and prosper. Watch this short video to find out more.
We have been running our holiday provision programme, Kitchen Social, since 2017, and are ready to work with London’s local authorities to build the knowledge, skills and overall readiness to deliver and commission the delivery of Holiday Food and Activities programmes in 2021.
TAKE & MAKE MEAL BOXES
As an extension of our Kitchen Social programme, we now also offer high quality recipe-kit boxes, called ‘Take & Make’, which encourage and support children to cook at home. These boxes are a direct response to the Covid-19 crisis allowing us to get healthy food into homes regardless of lockdown status. Every box contains step by step instructions and important skill training cards plus online video tutorials to build confidence in cooks of all ages.
Take & Make boxes can be funded by organisations that want to partner with the Mayor’s Fund for London and are available to order by local authorities.
