Blossoming into Budding Astronomers!
Students at Mount Carmel have been practising the methods used to find variable stars – and now they are ready to find their own! Over the past few weeks they have been using training images and software to search for pre-discovered stars, and are now zooming through the process like pros. They’ve spent some time learning about the different software and how to identify light curves and possible varying magnitudes, and are incredibly excited to move on to using the real images next week. Fingers crossed they make a new discovery!
