The transition from primary to secondary school is an important point in a young person’s development. Some require more support than others. Step Up provides academic support to underachieving pupils struggling with the move from primary to secondary school. It offers practical literacy and numeracy support, together with science and wider enrichment activities to boost resilience, confidence levels and ability. Since the programme launched in October 2014, all three boroughs participating have reported good levels of attendance, with an average rate of 73% overall.
