We currently operate in 7 boroughs – Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Islington, Newham, Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham plus the City of London. Our aim, over the next year, is to operate across London, focusing on areas of most need.
Why these 7 boroughs?
Our research tells us that these boroughs is where the need is greatest. In our 7 chosen boroughs:
- 35% of children are living in households where no adults are employed, this is 11% higher than the London average.
- 44% of children live in overcrowded housing, this is over three times the national average.
- 54.3% of children have English as a second language, in Tower Hamlets the figure rises to 78%
