New CEO appointed
We are delighted to announce the appointment Matthew Patten as Chief Executive of the Mayor’s Fund for London. Currently Chief Executive of The Lord’s Taverners, Matthew brings over 20 years senior management and marketing experience in the UK and worldwide in the private, public and third sectors.
Our Chair, Paulette Rowe said: “So far, the Mayor’s Fund for London has helped over 12,000 children and their families. The next three years will bring an expansion in our support for partner organisations that are helping young people in some of the city’s most deprived boroughs to move out of poverty and into work. We are delighted to have someone of Matthew’s experience and calibre to lead us in driving this forward”.
As Chief Executive of The Lord’s Taverners, Matthew has led the modernisation of the organisation into one of the UK’s leading youth sports and disability charities, joint-venturing with other organisations and increasing its profile, membership and corporate support. Last year saw the charity donate more than at any time in its 61-year history. Previous roles include Chief Executive at M&C Saatchi Sponsorship and Director of Communications for Clubs for Young People, working with over 400,000 disadvantaged young people. He is also a Trustee of St John Ambulance.
Commenting on his appointment, Matthew said: “This summer, thanks to London 2012 and the Paralympics, we’ve seen the Capital at its best. But scratch the surface and over 600,000 children in London are living in poverty. I’m looking forward to building on the success of The Mayor’s Fund in helping to transform the lives of those young people and championing new approaches to increase the organisation’s work”.
Matthew starts work with us on 1st October 2012.
